About us
It's the height of Summer!
Join the Culture Club crew to celebrate the Summer Solstice – the longest day of the year. Let's make the most of the weather (hopefully!) and have a picnic.
Traditionally, this is one of the times of year when the veil between ours and the faerie world is at its thinnest – although we are unlikely to see any faeries in Blockhouse Park, we can spend our time making wonderful flower crowns, that any faerie would be jealous of! Rachel will be guiding us through how to make the most striking headdresses to wear and take home.
We will be enjoying the outdoors in our crowns, making hand kites with the kids, insect spotting and making stick pile houses in the children's garden AND there will be a fizzy potion area! But, if that sounds like too much for you, you can relax in the sun, or the shade, too. At Culture Club you only ever need to join in with what you would like to, if chatting and chilling with a drink is more your thing, we always have a stocked refreshment station for you to help yourself.
During the session we will be having a potluck picnic, we would love it if you can bring along crisps, cakes, fruits, biscuits or snacky bits to share.
We plan to be sitting outside if the weather is nice, so please dress appropriately. If the weather isn't as gorgeous as we hope, we will have an indoor picnic instead.
Culture Club is a monthly event that involve food, crafts, and arts and are themed around seasonality and culture. They are FREE to attend for Village Hub Members who live in Stoke and Morice Town. Donations are welcome from other visitors.
