Plymouth and the surrounding areas feature many stunning coastline views and walks.
There are 9.3 miles (14.9km) of the South West Coast Path in Plymouth running between Admiral's Hard in Stonehouse and Jennycliff in Plymstock, known as the Plymouth's Waterfront Walkway. If you want to stick to Plymouth's centre, taking the famous walk from the historic Barbican, through the beautiful Hoe and towards the Royal William Yard allows you to step back in time whilst taking in the stunning views of Plymouth Sound.
If you want to venture a little further out, the coastline to either side of Plymouth into Devon and Cornwall is peppered with some of the country’s most envied beaches and romantic hidden coves, and just a short ferry ride away you can visit Mount Edgcumbe situated on a peninsula with over 10 miles of breathtaking coastline.
This year, we are celebrating Year of the Coast, a 365 day celebration. If you are drawn to the sea, Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City, ticks all the boxes.
