Bike Hire
There are a few bike hire options within Plymouth to help you get around and see the sights.
Plymouth Bike Hire
Plymouth Bike Hire offer a fantastic service for you to cycle the city, coast and moor. If you have adrenalin to burn hire one of their mountain bikes and blast into the new woodland and valley trails nearby. Or take a gentle family cycle onto Dartmoor with its Tors, Rivers and Woodland. Just follow the Plym Valley Steam Railway line and Drake's Leet.
Alternatively, ride in the other direction to Saltram House with its lovely gardens and paths and then onto Plymouth's Waterfront with glorious views across Plymouth Sound to Drake’s Island and the Breakwater.
Hire prices are: Adults bikes £18, Childs bikes £12, Bike with Baby Seat £22, Family ticket (2 Adults and 2 Children) £48. They also offer Electric Bikes, Adult Trikes & Tandem hire.
iScootbike – Scooter-bike Hire and Guided Tours
Unique in UK and already among the best things to do in Plymouth, scooter bike riding is a fantastic way to maintain an active lifestyle and have fun while doing so for adults and kids alike.
iScootBike offer a range of fantastic premium scooter bikes available to hire by the hour from the centre of Plymouth and in easy reach of the Hoe, the Barbican and Royal William Yard.
Hire prices are: £15 for the entire day (9 am to 7 pm) or £28 for 2 days.
Rame Riders
With access to over 800 acres, Rame Riders is situated at Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park on the Rame Peninsula. Hire a bike and explore the wonderful grounds of the park or take a trip on their 5km all weather family trail and experience history, wildlife and fantastic panoramic views of the coast. Get to them by car, bus and even on foot via the Cremyll Ferry from Plymouth.
They have a fleet of bikes to cater for all ages. Holiday hire is also available with drop off and pick up.
Rockets & Rascals
Local bike shop and café, Rockets & Rascals, offers a bike hire service to suit the whole family with their beautiful town and country bikes.
It’s the perfect place to start an adventure using Plymouth’s waterfront cycle route this is ideal for people wanting to explore the city by bike or head further afield.
Plymouth School Sports Partnership – Free Trike Hire and Adapted Bikes
Free adult cycle training is now available and offers coaching with the opportunity to ride trikes, tandems and adapted bikes allowing everyone to try cycling. Access Plymouth also has a long history of helping people with disabilities or the elderly to get around using various mobility aids, such as hiring mobility scooters and wheel chairs for a small cost.
Charlotte's Tandems – Free Tandem Hire
Plymouth City Council have teamed up with registered charity Charlotte's Tandems to lend tandems to people with special needs or disabilities free of charge, allowing them to get out and about on a bicycle. Find out about the scheme on the Charlotte's Tandems website.
