Local Trade Stands & Food Outlets
We have a great selection of food outlets lined up, who will offer their delicious food all day. These vary from Pig and Pallet who rear and cure their own meats, Kernowforno with their wood fired pizzas, to Thyme and Tide with their wood fired fish and vegetarian burgers and many more!
We welcome guests to browse our variety of local trade stands, which will include food based stands, as well as BBQ orientated stands. A full list of trade stands will follow shortly, but to name a few, we have already secured Pro Q, Veg in a Box, Kernowfornia and Eco Grill UK.
BBQ Competition
12 amateur and professional teams will battle it out in our BBQ Competition. There will be four classes, as listed below, and a generous prize for the winner of each, with the addition of The Best Amateur Team, The Spirit of the BBQ and the overall PenGrillie Grand Champion of 2018.
Classes
Class 1: Seafood
Class 2: Poultry
Class 3: The Ultimate Chilli
Class 4: Lamb
Judges
As per our previous years, there will be a selection of renowned judges on the panel. Class 3, The Ultimate Chilli, will be judged via a 'People's Choice' vote, whereby the public will vote for their favourite chilli, all in aid of a chosen charity. Entertainment
Local high energy folk and Celtic punk rock band, Black Friday, will be playing throughout the day
There will be a small selection of outdoor activities, including Air Rifle Shooting & Archery.
A number of professionals will demonstrate their smoking and grilling skills on our demonstration stand
Chilli Wing Eating Competition (we wonder if Ted will be brave enough to have another go!)
The Pentillie Gardens will be open for guests to explore the Castle grounds
Children's Activities
Being a family friendly festival there will be plenty to keep the kids entertained, with a dedicated 'Kids Corner' filled with lots of fun and activities, a bouncy castle and a circus workshop with Higher Beings.
