About us

Come and explore the world of donkeys.
We have a whole day of family fun planned and everyone is welcome to join us for our 2018 Open Day which is the main event of the year at Ivybridge Donkey Sanctuary.
Get up close with our resident herd of donkeys here at Ivybridge in the arena and on main yard and interact with them in a variety of ways to learn more about these wonderful animals' behavior. You'll also be able to meet two key members of our herd, Pooh and Eeyore, and even adopt them to help us continue reaching donkeys worldwide. The whole family can enjoy watching various donkey activities and donkey care demonstrations in the arena and NEW FOR THIS YEAR: our education team are bringing some special resources so you can get to know donkeys inside and out!

The Donkey Trail will be returning for 2018. Our trail will get you exploring our entire Centre and grounds to find the answers to all sorts of donkey questions to win a donkey memento and look out for Lucky our donkey mascot on the way around!

Our donkey world shop will be stacked with all sorts of donkey inspired goodies which make gifts for loved ones or just to treat yourself. There will also be a variety of local stall holders and traders attending the open day with lots of retail opportunities.

Delicious refreshments will be available including homemade cakes and snacks and ice creams. A children's play area, rides and games will keep even the youngest visitors entertained and a dog agility and show area will make sure four legged friends are happy as well.
.
Come along to meet our wonderful donkeys, staff and volunteers to learn more about the services we offer, including donkey facilitated learning sessions we provide to vulnerable people as well as providing a home for life for thousands of unwanted donkeys. We look forward to welcoming you all on the day.
