As the cultural centre of Devon and Cornwall there is always amazing art to cultural diversity around the city of Plymouth. Arts and culture fans can delight in the many events held within the city each year.
Choose from an abundance of cultural events and art festivals or head to a vintage festival or antique fair and revel in the music, fashion, film and art and design that Plymouth has to offer.
Plymouth plays host to a number of locally produced and nationally touring exhibitions throughout the year.
The Box, Plymouth’s major new arts and cultural venue has some amazing galleries filled with highlights from the city’s collections as well as a changing programme of exhibitions throughout the year. The exhibitions mark key anniversaries such as Mayflower 400 and also highlight the work of national and international artists.
Venues such as Plymouth Arts Cinema, MIRROR, the on-site gallery at Arts University Plymouth and The Arts Institute offer a rolling programme of high quality films and exhibitions. Admission to these exhibitions is usually free and all the venues are within a short walking distance from each other so it’s easy to visit more than one in a day. Venues such as KARST also have exciting and original gallery programmes.
