Dartmoor Zoo unveils new membership structure

Popular attraction Dartmoor Zoo near Plymouth has made a significant change to its membership scheme.
The all-new change means as of 1 April you can pay once on entry and you can return to the Zoo for free for the year!
Why did Dartmoor Zoo make this decision?
- During this current economic climate, the Zoo appreciate understands that people everyone is feeling the pinch! The new annual pass will allow you to visit the Zoo as many times as you like within 12 months for no extra cost.
- As part of their new Annual Pass, the zoo will be able to claim back Gift Aid relief on your behalf, which is something they were unable to do previously. There is no additional cost to the customer, but the government will give The Zoo an extra 25p for every £1 spent which will be of huge benefit to our charity!
David Gibson, CEO commented: “The local market is extremely important for us as they support our work throughout the year. For this reason, on the 1 April we were pleased to introduce a new annual ticket which all our visitors can make use of.
"This will mean our visitors pay once but can return as often as they want free of charge over the subsequent 12 months. Wherever possible we buy local, whether that is materials, food and drink or services. We pride ourselves in returning as much as we can to the local economy.”
What difference will this make to Dartmoor Zoo?
As a charity, The Zoo relies on donations and ticket sales to help them to care for the animals and to continue their vital conservation work in the UK and around the world.
It costs on average £130,000 each month to run and maintain the Zoo, therefore pound makes a difference.
A portion of the admission fee is donated to global conservation each year, so by visiting Dartmoor Zoo, visitors are helping us to achieve their mission "to conserve wildlife, promote wellbeing and educate future generations by inspiring people to be more engaged with nature."
Contributions from 2024 ticket slaes have supported two global conservation charities, Wildcats Conservation Alliance and AB Conservation and their efforts.
