The Boathouse Seafood Café and Bar

A few steps from the Barbican sits The Boathouse, light and airy, this is the place to warm your cockles. Enjoy a selection of hot drinks to cosy up with, or if you are feeling indulge in their delicious seafood offerings, featuring the freshest catches from their own boats.

                   

Fig & Thyme  

With its boho interior and extensive menu, Fig & Thyme is ideal for a hot drink and a bite to eat. Dog-friendly and with large windows offering great views of The Barbican, it’s the perfect spot to watch the world go by.

                              

Flower Café 

Aptly named, the florally decorated café is the perfect place to welcome spring. The Flower Cafe is known for their inventive hot drinks and cakes, they offer everything from unicorn hot chocolates to cupcake decorating classes.   

                            

Monty’s  

A stone’s throw from the iconic Mayflower Steps, Monty’s is a homely café that has been serving up tasty food and drinks since 2005. It’s dog-friendly, with outdoor seating that’s perfect when the sun is shining. 

The Mad Merchant’s Coffee House 

Nestled in the cobbled streets, The Mad Merchant’s Coffee House on New Street is a hidden gem. Enjoy a selection of hot drinks indoors or in their Mediterranean garden. 

Cap’n Jaspers  

The place that any true Janner already knows, Cap’n Jaspers has stood on The Barbican since 1978. Offering a wide range of food and drink, with plenty of outdoor seating, it’s perfect for watching boats on Sutton Harbour.  

                     

Tudor Rose Tea Rooms and Garden 

Housed in a stunning 16th-century building, Tudor Rose Tea Rooms is ideal for a traditional afternoon tea. It also boasts a beautiful English garden, perfect for sunny days. 

Mint Café and Bar  

A recent addition to the Barbican, Mint Café and Bar has become a local favourite. From hot drinks to a cheeky prosecco, the Café has a cosy but lively atmosphere great for catching up with those you love.  

              

Rockets and Rascals  

Proudly serving food and drinks for over 10 years,  Rockets and Rascals is likely the only place in Devon where you can hire a bike and order a latte in the same breath. Known for their community and friendliness, this is the perfect place to stop into for a drink whilst out and about exploring.  

               

Boston Tea Party  

Located in a historic Grade II listed building, Boston Tea Party has an eclectic mix of furniture and a great menu, from hand-roasted coffee to fluffy pancakes and delicious treats. 

                

Margo’s  

A family run business specialising in delicious sandwhiches and tasty treats, Margo’s is warm and welcoming to everyone who visits. They have a variety of cakes, pastries, and quiches. There’s also seating outdoors, great for enjoying the lively atmosphere of The Barbican.  

                 

Coffee and Donuts  

With its iconic red and white branding, Coffee and Donuts lives up to its name, serving up freshly brewed coffee and warm donuts. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the view over Sutton Harbour while you indulge in these tasty treats.
