Theatre Royal Plymouth is ready to kickstart 2025 and the year will see a wide range of exciting and spectacular shows, including the return of the award-winning musical Mary Poppins, the truly scrumptious new production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, a range of one nighters, including tribute acts to Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson, plus an exciting spring season in The Drum.
2025 will also see the highly-anticipated six-week run of Hamilton, as well as an exclusive UK run of The Lord of the Rings – A Musical Tale, which can only be seen at TRP before it embarks on a European tour.

The Book of Mormon, The Lyric, 14 – 25 January (14+)

Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of), The Lyric, 27 January – 01 February (12+)
Direct from its triumph in the West End where it won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy and the Evening Standard Award, Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of) is a unique and audacious retelling of Jane Austen's most iconic love story.
Ghost Stories, The Lyric, 04 – 08 February (15+)
A truly terrifying theatrical experience created by The League of Gentlemen's Jeremy Dyson, and Andy Nyman, co-creator of Derren Brown's television and stage shows. Ghost Stories mixes the very best of theatre with the buzz of a thrill-ride, delivering something truly unique.
Riders to the Sea, The Drum, 07 – 08 February (12+)
A man, full of unshed tears and haunted by the ghosts of his past, finds himself drawn back to the sea, and the memory of his mother, his sisters, and a great loss.
Newly orchestrated for oboe, clarinet and accordion, and with a new dramatic prologue, The Last Bit of the Moon, by Michael Betteridge and ArtfulScribe's Community Sirens Collective with Antosh Wojcik, Vaughan Williams' masterful miniature expands into a powerful tale of family, grief and love's enduring power. Lynn Faces, The Drum, 12 – 15 February (16+)
Nearing 40, painfully shy, and emerging from a toxic break-up, Leah forms a punk band inspired by Lynn from Alan Partridge. The Band of HM Royal Marines Plymouth, The Lyric, 15 February
RM Band Plymouth is based at HMS Raleigh in Torpoint, Cornwall. The band undertakes a wide variety of ceremonial work of national importance, as well as fulfilling its main role of providing music for the ships and establishments of the Royal Navy. The Band of HM Royal Marines Plymouth concert will feature classic marches, overtures, soloists, a spectacular finale and not forgetting the ever-present Corps of Drums, this will be an evening not to be missed.

Vivid, rebellious and joyful – Mid Life is a frank, comedic exposé of menopausal Mid Life. Join us as we laugh, roar and disco dance our way through our midlife!
Mid Life sold out in venues across the UK in 2020. Rewritten and revamped, this upbeat, life-affirming show is packed with razor sharp humour and disco. It draws its themes from real life experiences of women in midlife and ends with a dance party for all to join in.
Roshni, The Drum, 06 – 08 March
Roshni (from the Persian word meaning light or brilliance) is an intimate crafting of dance and live music, inspired by the stories and experiences of everyday people. Made up of three distinctive and engaging dance pieces: The Call, The Light and The Wave, Roshni explores the highs and lows of life today and gives us hope for the future.
IMAGO, The Drum, 18 – 19 March (12+)
Nominated for 'Best Independent Dance Company' at The National Dance Awards, PCK Dance presents their Internationally acclaimed five-star work IMAGO.
IMAGO is a captivating duet that exposes the intricate and often hidden dysfunctions in relationships within a coded nod to the Language of Flowers.
Is Anybody There?, The Drum, 20 – 22 March (14+)
Hands up. Has anybody ever seen a ghost?"
Exeter Uni 2006. Strapped for cash, Daniel joins a group of students performing a psychology experiment to create a ghost and begins to lose his grip on what is real and what isn't.
Inspired by the true story of The Phillip Experiment and the writer's experiences at Exeter University in 2006 the show has interactive elements taking the audience through a series of psychology experiments.

Close Enough, The Drum, 25 – 26 April (14+)
Close Enough is an autobiographical solo performance about belonging that challenges stereotypes around immigrant women from Eastern Europe.
The piece is based on real-life experiences of actress Cristina Varga, who moved to the UK 3 months before Brexit. With a comedic approach, Cristina shines light on the diversity and different dynamics between the two cultures that she is now part of: Romania and the UK.

Quadrophenia: A Mod Ballet, The Lyric, 28 May – 01 June (12+)
In 1973, guitar smashing rock genius Pete Townshend wrote Quadrophenia. Recorded by The Who – it quickly became an iconic and multi-million selling album. Quadrophenia defined a generation and in 1979 inspired the cult classic feature film of the same name.
Now it's back – this time as an explosive dance production – Quadrophenia, A Mod Ballet with a large cast of exceptional dancers, introducing new audiences to troubled mod Jimmy's story while remaining true in spirit to the much-loved original.
