Plymouth’s award-winning museum, art gallery and archive, The Box, will be transformed into a magical wonderland with a variety of festive events this Christmas. From the chance to meet Santa to a local makers Christmas market, there are plenty of events for everyone to enjoy, ensuring you’re filled with festive cheer and holiday spirit! 

   

Local Makers Christmas Market 

5 December, 6pm- 8pm  

The Box will be hosting a festive local makers Christmas market, giving you the opportunity to shop for locally made gifts. There will also be a special discount in the shop on the night, make it the perfect opportunity to cross off items on your Christas shopping list! The Box Kitchen & Bar will also be serving a variety of hot and cold festive drinks on the night.  

    

Breakfast with Santa  

7 & 8, 14 & 15 and 21 & 22 of December, 9am to 11am  

Come and meet Father Christmas whilst having a delicious bite to eat! Breakfast with Santa gives you the chance to enjoy a delicious meal whilst meeting Santa Claus himself. All children's tickets include a gift.  

    

Around The World in 80 Sleighs 

15 December, 6.30pm to 9pm

In celebration of a global Christmas, The Box is hosting Around The World in 80 Sleighs. Travel around the globe with a festive performance which incorporates the traditions of a range of different countries. You will be taken through a melting pot of cultures in a Christmas concert that should not be missed!  

   

Tell Me A Story Special: Big Red Dragon Rhymes 

20 December, 10.30am to 11am 

Experience the magic of Christmas with some special storytelling, Big Red Dragon Rhymes. Children’s poet and author Jane Newberry and her puppets will tell the tale of the big red dragon. Combining rhymes and interactive elements, this is perfect for families. 

Family Late: Starry, Starry Night 

20 December, 5.30pm to 8pm 

Begin your festive celebrations with a special late-night visit to The Box, Starry, Starry Night! Explore the fascinating galleries after hours, make some night sky themed crafts enjoy some star filled stories and dance along to some Christmas hits. It’s the perfect way to get into that festive feeling, and you never know, there could be a special guest who wears a red suit and has a white beard!
