Celebrate with Nemone at the because the night belongs to us closing party     

BBC Radio 6’s Nemone will be in town this evening to mark the closing party for the because the night belongs to us exhibition that has been at The Box this summer.

The exhibition, which celebrates the history of culture and nightlife in Plymouth has been hugely popular across the summer and is open until Sunday 4 September.

Get under the sea with the Marine Park Snorkel Safari

This exclusive Drakes Island snorkel safari will let you get up close and personal with the wildlife that lives in Plymouth Sound National Marine Park.

Led by the team at the National Marine Aquarium and aimed at people who have snorkelled before these 90 minute sessions are led by fully qualified BSAC snorkel instructors who are all marine conservationists too!

Take a foraging tour with Plymouth Gin

Always fancied foraging for your food? Now’s your chance to try it with this brand new tour experience from Plymouth Gin on Saturday 3 September.

In collaboration with the Family Foraging Kitchen, you can learn the traditional and sustainable skills of sourcing wild ingredients. After a 2-hour hedgerow adventure, you’ll gather both wild and kitchen garden spices, herbs, seaweeds and more. You’ll then discover how to use these ingredients to create Plymouth Gin cocktails and a selection of seasonal wild canapes on the beach.

Enjoy the sunshine vibes at The Terrace

Not ready for Autumn to arrive? Celebrate the end of summer with Heyday events at The Terrace for their Rum n Reggae festival this weekend.

Join 200 reggae lovers, all jamming to the best reggae with blissful views of Plymouth Sound. There’ll be plenty of rum to get your taste buds going too!

Expect to hear tunes from Jimmy Cliff, Aswad, Desmond Dekker, Toots and the Maytals and of course the master of reggae Bob Marley. All you need to do is decide if you want to go during the day, or evening – or both!

Plymouth is easily accessible by train with a wide range of services running from a variety of locations within England. Although some services may require a change or two.

Travelling from London takes around 3 hours with Great Western Railway, if you're coming from the north, the trip from Manchester can take 5 hours 15 minutes.
