As the latest lockdown rolls on, Royal William Yard is open for those seeking a safe sanctuary to exercise, experience mindful moments in the great outdoors, and nourish themselves with healthy food and drink. Here we look at how you can embrace wellness this winter at the Yard:
- Take a walk along the South West Coast Path as a fantastic and free way to get physical exercise and the mental health benefits of a walk by the water in the fresh air. The Plymouth Waterfront Walkway walking route is 9.3 miles long in total and takes you around RWY and onwards to explore the city's history and heritage – explore the walk here. Or simply stroll around the Yard, peek through Firestone Arch, climb our famous staircase, and pick up a hot chocolate to go from Domea Favour – there’s even a vegan option available.
- Whether continuing Veganuary, having a healthy start to the year, or simply want a comforting meal that you haven’t had to prepare yourself; the Yard’s resident eateries offer a wealth of options – and have takeaway and delivery services in place. Wagamama has committed to making 50% of its menu meat-free by the end of this year, and has some delicious new vegan dishes available. The Hook & Line is offering fresh fish boxes with fish and scallops caught by their own boats. These are packaged up with your choice of accompaniments and a handy recipe card to help create a fresh seafood dish in the comfort of your own home. And Wildwood is serving up some great offers at the moment alongside its freshly cooked meals.
- Wild swimming has become immensely popular across the UK, especially through lockdowns as people seek new ways to boost their wellbeing, benefit from cold water therapy, and make the most of the coastline. ACE Swimming offers professional coaching through swim camps, clinics, private sessions and theory sessions to take to the water safely and with confidence. Group sessions are not running during the restrictions, but one-to-one private coaching sessions are available to book here.
- South West SUP is closed at the moment due to the restrictions, but is already planning activities that promote wellness when it reopens. The team plans to run ‘blue mind’ retreats at RWY to share the positive benefits of enjoying the ocean. There is also a SUP and yoga retreat scheduled, to help people to escape their busy lives and experience a full day reconnecting mind and body with nature. Spaces are still available for the July event.
- Approaching its one year anniversary, Enhance Aesthetics & Wellness are still offering online consultations, and look forward to reopening in due course. This tranquil and luxurious clinic offers spa therapy treatments, aesthetics, sports massage and wellbeing counselling services. The team uses 100% natural, vegan products handmade in Devon.

Kasperoz This recipe is pretty amazing, and I endorse it for my health. I eat healthy foods since they have a direct impact on mental wellness. But for those with depression, I can suggest Depression therapy from licensed counselors https://us.calmerry.com/depression-therapy/ as a great way to quickly reduce stress by meeting with a psychologist. garrymorgan Amazing post. I also love visiting different places, because it helps me to relax. Some time ago with help of http://essaypapers.reviews/ I wrote a paper on the influence of traveling on mental health, and the influence is beneficial.
