Don’t miss the Fairy Godmother of all pantomimes! This traditional Christmas treat will entertain the whole family, with laugh-out-loud moments, spectacular special effects and King of Comedy Brian Conley, who returns to Plymouth to star as Buttons. Treasure Island
Plymouth Athenaeum, 10 December to 5 January
Hilarious comedy theatre group, Le Navet Bete, are back for their 9th Christmas show in Plymouth. The whole family will enjoy this rip-roaring comedy adventure encountering swashbuckling pirates, tropical islands and high seas – and just like the best pantomimes, there’s plenty of audience participation!

The Elves & the Shoemaker

An hour-long show perfect for children aged 3+, this is a hilarious retelling of a classic story that will enchant the whole family, with plenty of wit, charm and impressive puppetry.

The Curious Tale of Jack Frost
Stiltskin Soapbox Children’s Theatre, selected dates until 24 December
This magical festive delight is a treat for the whole family. Get ready for a sparkling adventure to discover the artist behind the fern like patterns that Jack Frost leaves behind, before they melt with the early morning sun. There are two versions of the show to choose from, suitable for under and over 5s.

A Grimm Christmas
Barbican Theatre, 12 to 23 December
Looking for something a bit more grown up? Enjoy this darkly delicious festive treat that’s just for adults (no kids allowed!). The show sees the Brothers Grimm reclaiming the dark and gruesome fairy tales that have become sanitised and sweetened for children. They’ll be retelling traditional folklore but completely uncensored, with plenty of menace and gore to thrill and delight you on A Grimm Christmas Night.
