Now that the Summer Holidays are in full swing, there are plenty of unforgettable events and experiences coming up at the National Marine Aquarium for you, your family, and friends to enjoy.
Superhero and Princess Party
Visit the NMA for a regal and superpowered evening with this extra special party! It’s bound to be an incredible event for families to enjoy involving face painting, cupcake decorating, themed arts and crafts and maybe even some surprise V.I.P guests!
The party is coming up on Thursday 16 August, starting at 6pm. Don’t forget to come along in your best superhero or princess outfit, you might win a prize for the best fancy dress!
Pilates at the Aquarium
Partnering with Nuffield Health, the National Marine Aquarium has been holding wellbeing sessions to improve relaxation and dissolve stress. Their fantastic Pilates session is a fantastic opportunity to unwind in front of their stunning Eddystone exhibit, and is ideal for anyone over 16, of all abilities. With the next session coming up on Monday 20 August, and only £5 a ticket, it would be a shame to miss this excellent evening.
A free lecture with the Buckland Foundation
The National Marine Aquarium is holding its annual Buckland Lecture on Wednesday 15 August with guest speakers Dr Ronald Campbell and Dr John Armstrong in a fascinating series of talks on the history, development and future of Atlantic Salmon management. These talks will cover a huge variety from the first legislation in the Middle Ages to the application of advanced electronic, genetic and computing tools in the modern world. It’s a fantastic talk for both academics or anyone curious about the management of Atlantic Salmon in the British Isles.
Doors open at 6:30 and the lecture begins at 7pm. It’s free to attend but booking is essential, book here.
Sleeping with Sharks
The National Marine Aquarium’s highly successful Sleeping with Sharks sleepovers are an incredible way for the whole family to experience what happens in the Aquarium at night. This exclusive opportunity to sleep in front of the amazing Eddystone Exhibit is sure to grant lifelong memories.
Tickets for sleeping with sharks on 18 August are now sold out, but spaces on the 22 October still remain! Book your spot here for a half term treat.
