About us
Film starts 9.30pm (doors open and bar from 8pm)As a special 50th Anniversary treat, Plymouth Arts Centre is joining with Plymouth City Council to bring you this iconic film in an iconic Plymouth location. Looking and sounding better than ever before, join The Fab Four John, Paul, George and Ringo on the technicolour adventure of a lifetime.
Before the screening, The Box will be showing archive footage of The Beatles in Plymouth. The Plymouth After Dark Project will also be seeking to find out what you use to get up to once the sun went down in 1968.
Illustrated with mind-bending moving images, Yellow Submarine tells the story of how The Beatles battle the music-hating Blue Meanies armed only with the power of love. From Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds to Nowhere Man, and Eleanor Rigby to All You Need Is Love, Yellow Submarine features some of the most-loved songs from the greatest band the world has ever known. An exuberant fusion of music, film and art, Yellow Submarine is a landmark cinematic experience that is as fun and vibrant as it was in 1968.
Dir. George Dunning, UK, 1968, 90 mins.
Cast. George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Dick Emery, Lance Percival.
