From the traffic lights at the centre of Royal Parade, head south towards the sea, passing the Plymouth Guildhall on your left. Cross the road at Princess Street and head towards Notte Street. Cross at the traffic lights and turn left and head towards the entrance of Southside Street. The distance from the centre of Royal Parade to the entrance to Southside Street and it’s approximately 500m.
Catch the Plymouth Citybus number 25 for the centre Royal Parade, the Barbican and the Hoe route. For further information on bus services please visit https://www.plymouthbus.co.uk/
The No 25 will follow a diversion route from the city centre around the waterfront between 9am and 4.30pm on Saturday and 12pm and 4.30pm on the Sunday due the Pirates Fun Run event. Temporary bus stops will be put in place on Lambhay Hill to accommodate this.
Free shuttle bus
Plymouth Citybus will be running a free shuttle bus during the Pirates Weekend, taking place on 18 and 19 May between 10am and 4pm and 11.30am to 4pm respectively. The shuttle bus service will be known as service 25P - this service will be in addition to their usual 25 service.
There will be a temporary bus stop on Vauxhall Street, as well as a temporary bus stop at the bottom of Lambhay Hill to allow people to visit Commercial Wharf, where there will be a number of events taking place.
Travel with GWR to Plymouth train station which is 1.7km from the Barbican and Sutton Harbour.
Take a taxi to the Barbican and Sutton Harbour. The nearest taxi rank is by the Basket Ope flats during Pirates Weekend.
Jump on board the yellow water taxi from Mount Batten into the Barbican Landing Stage at Commercial Wharf.
Plymouth Boat Trips run a number of ferry services between the Barbican, Royal William Yard and Mount Edgcumbe; between the Barbican and Cawsand in Cornwall; and the Cremyll ferry. Seasonal timetables do apply, please check before you travel.

Take a ride along Plymouth’s stunning Waterfront on the National Cycle Network routes 2 and 27 to reach the Barbican and Sutton Harbour.

Join the A38 Devon Expressway to Plymouth and follow signs for Sutton Harbour and the Barbican.
There are more than 20 car parks in and around Plymouth city centre, the Barbican and Sutton Harbour, providing thousands of parking spaces for visitors.
There is also 2 hours free parking at Queen Anne’s Battery.

Plymouth Waterfront Partnership, and the local businesses who make the Pirates Weekend possible, look forward to welcoming you to the event.
There will be road closures on Southside Street from the junction of Vauxhall Street to the junction of Lambhay Hill from 9am to 4.30pm each day. Basket Ope will be closed from 7am on Saturday 18 May to 5.30pm on Sunday 19 May.
Two additional closures will take place on Sunday 19 May between 9am to 12pm to accommodate the Pirate Fun Run. These are Madeira Road from the bottom of Lambhay Hill to the mini roundabout of Hoe Road, and from here until the Citadel.
Bretonside Road near The Barbican will be closed in the inbound direction for the weekend due to emergency repairs. Drivers are advised to follow the signed diversions that are in place.
A temporary taxi rank will be set up outside the Basket Ope flats.
