The judging process

There is also a panel local care-experienced children and young people who give their own Young People’s Choice Award, which is sponsored by Plymouth Citybus.
The professional judging criteria includes the quality, compliance with brief, symmetry, patterns and timing and overall artistic impression of the display
The local judging criteria includes variety of fireworks and sequences, rhythm, use of colour and overall impression.
Environmental considerations
The British Firework Championships have put in measures including restriction of certain fireworks and requiring competitors to remove all non-essential plastics. The aim is to remove all plastics, hopefully before the end of 2025.
