About us
This summer we'll be celebrating light and colour whatever the weather! Our FREE family activities will be inspired by our 'Reframing Reynolds' and 'Dappled Light' exhibitions and we'll be having fun each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the school holidays with children's yoga and mindfulness sessions, science activities, making and using paints from natural materials and colourful printing with gelli plates. Our schedule is as follows:
25-27 Jul: Gelli plate printmaking inspired by Sir Joshua Reynolds.
1-3 Aug: Fun hands-on science experiments exploring light and colour.
8-10 Aug: Use and experiment with paints from fruit and vegetables to make creations inspired by Rana Begum's work.
15-17 Aug: Gelli plate printmaking inspired by Rana Begum's work.
22-24 Aug: Create colourful windows of layered landscapes.
29-31 Aug: Make wax relief portraits that are transformed by natural light.
We'll also be offering yoga and mindfulness for children on Thursday 27 July, Tuesday 1 August, Wednesday 9 August, Thursday 17 August, Tuesday 22 August and Wednesday 30 August. Just sign up on the day for a free half-hour session in St Luke's church at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
