About us

Dir. Sophie Roy, US, 2024, 88 mins. Cast. Mena Massoud, Tatiana Maslany. With original songs from Grammy & Brit Award nominated Shawn Mendes.

The butterflies are preparing for their annual migration, and everyone is aflutter! But when young butterfly Patrick is told he must stay home as he's not ready, he and his friends refuse to be grounded. Despite having only one full-grown wing, Patrick and friends follow their dream of flying with (or rather just behind) the migration. The tenacious team encounter incredible wonders and plenty of challenges – but above all they discover it's not just the journey that matters, but what we learn along the way.

Join us for a sociable Origami Butterfly Workshop before we watch Butterfly Tale! Booking required.

Our Family Friendly screenings are Relaxed. They are suitable for neurodiverse audiences and those with access requirements.
- Plymouth Arts Cinema is run by a small and friendly team of staff and volunteers.
- The volume is much lower than at a multiplex.
- The house lights are left on a little.
- You are welcome to bring personal items such as blankets, ear defenders, that will help you enjoy the film but do not disrupt other people's cinematic experience.
- Information to help you choose your seat: air circulation in the cinema is feeding from each side of the auditorium. It should feel cooler near the aisles on the front rows, warmer at the back.
