Popular pizza chain set to open at The Barcode

The opening date has been announced for a popular pizza chain in Plymouth city centre. 

Sourdough pizza pioneers Franco Manca are set to open new restaurant at Drake Circus, The Barcode on Monday 11 March 2024, bringing its authentic Neapolitan pizzas to the city for the first time.

Nearly 16 years since it opened its first restaurant in London’s Brixton Market in 2008, the much-loved brand is opening its debut Plymouth site, making it the 70th Franco Manca restaurant in the UK. It will be the second site in Devon, following the success of Franco Manca Exeter, which opened in 2019.

The new restaurant will be located at Drake Circus, within the Barcode development, and will offer both indoor and outdoor seating (72 seats inside and 32 seats outside). The opening will also create around 25 jobs for the local community.

Franco Manca is renowned for its signature sourdough pizzas made from seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and fresh, handmade dough proved over 24 hours. From the classic margherita, to decadent truffle, smoked burrata & wild mushrooms, there’s a delicious array of flavours to suit every taste. The menu also includes a range of light bites, sharing platters, salads, and mouthwatering desserts such as the fan-favourite homemade tiramisù.
