Plymouth’s tourism businesses shine at Devon Tourism Awards 2024

Plymouth celebrated its thriving tourism and hospitality industry on Thursday 21 November, at the Devon Tourism Awards. Several Plymouth businesses came away with prizes at the ceremony which was held in Crowne Plaza Plymouth.
Among the highlights of the evening was Fig Tree @ 36, which secured Gold in the Restaurant of the Year category for the second consecutive year, cementing its reputation as one of Plymouth’s finest dining establishments.
In the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year category, Escapism Plymouth was awarded Silver.
The Tourism Event / Festival of the Year Bronze accolade went to the ever-popular Pirates Weekend on the waterfront, celebrated for its family-friendly entertainment, which have made it a standout event in Plymouth’s annual calendar.
In the Glamping Business of the Year, Rusty Sheds won Bronze.
Destination Plymouth sponsored the Unsung Hero of the Year award for 2024, which was awarded to Zoe McGregor, Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park.
Awards organiser Robin Barker of Services for Tourism commented: “In what is a difficult time for many, it has been great to see increased entries into the awards and an increased number of winners. Their innovation, resilience and commitment to excellence never cease to amaze me.”
Many successful gold award winners in the Devon Awards will be nominated to represent Devon in the national VisitEngland awards later in the year.
