Local families given chance to win exciting SailGP experience
3rd June 2021
Plymouth Community Homes’ residents have the chance to win a VIP viewing experience at the Great Britain Sail Grand Prix, when it takes place on Plymouth Sound this July.
Plymouth City Council, Plymouth Citybus and Plymouth Community Homes have teamed up to offer seven lucky competition winners and their families a premium waterfront viewing experience on Plymouth Hoe and free bus travel to get there.
To enter the competition, families have to get creative and design their own poster for SailGP, capturing the excitement of the event – this could be painted, drawn or even a collage.
SailGP is one of the world’s most impressive sailing events and Plymouth will host the third event in the global league’s second season. The adrenaline-filled racing between competing nations promises high-speeds, high-tech and high drama.
The competition entries will be judged by Olympic gold medal winning sailor Paul Goodison, who will drive the Great Britain SailGP Team’s F50 catamaran during the racing in Plymouth.
Seven winners will each win five premium waterfront tickets, allowing them to take friends or family to the first day of the event on Saturday 17 July.
The seven winning posters will also be printed and displayed on board a select Plymouth Citybus bus.
The competition is only open to Plymouth Community Homes’ residents. To enter, a photo of the designed poster should be emailed to: communitiesteam@plymouthcommunityhomes.co.uk. Entries close at 12pm on Wednesday 30 June.
