Global superstar Deadmau5 announced as first headliner for 1 Big Summer
30th April 2021
Deadmau5 is one of the world’s most respected electronic music producers of modern times. Enjoying international success with his singles ‘Professional Griefers’ ‘Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff’, ‘I Remember’ and more, he has released five critically acclaimed albums and reached #1 in the Billboard charts.
Deadmau5 is an icon of dance music, so much so that in addition to being recognized as a multiple Juno Award winning, and 6 time GRAMMY nominated artist, he actually performed at the 54th GRAMMY Awards as part of its first ever show highlighting electronic music.
Plymouth has a long history of bringing the world’s biggest DJs to the Hoe, including Martin Garrix, Afrojack, and Steve Aoki. There’s no better way to continue that legacy, and celebrate new beginnings – than with the man who started it all.
Deadmau5 will be performing the closing set on the Saturday night. Event organisers have promised that this will be bigger and filled with more special effects and bright lights than any performance to have taken place in Plymouth over the years. It will be a must see moment in Plymouth Hoe history!
1 Big Summer, a 3-day music event in Plymouth, will take place on Plymouth Hoe on the August bank holiday weekend: 27th, 28th, and 29th August 2021.
Over 50% of tickets have already been sold across the 3 days. Organisers have said that more announcements of artists will follow in the coming weeks, along with at least two additional headliners across the weekend. As such, they expect demand to stay high. To manage that demand, tickets will remain limited to 4 per person per day.
