Outdoor swimming pools in Plymouth set to reopen soon

The final countdown has begun as Plymouth’s favourite lidos reopen this weekend.

Tinside Lido and Mount Wise Swimming Pools, managed by sports and leisure operator Everyone Active in partnership with Plymouth City Council are getting ready to reopen their doors this Saturday 1 May for the summer season.

Tinside Lido will have a maximum capacity of 120 people for ‘public swimming’, to ensure social distancing guidance can be adhered to. Mount Wise Swimming Pools will be reopening its 25m main swimming pool with a maximum capacity of 20 people for lane swimming, as well as its feature pool and paddling pool with a maximum capacity of 24 people.

A variety of measures were introduced across both facilities as Everyone Active launched The Everyone Pledge to keep everyone safe and active across its facilities. These include:

• All sessions have to be booked in advance and paid online or via the app
• Set session timings, which will include a break in-between to allow for cleaning
• Visitors requested to arrive ‘pool ready’ as changing rooms will be unavailable
• Signing in system in place to record attendance for Track and Trace
