Tinside Lido opens for summer

Swimmers and sunbathers can enjoy the delights of Plymouth’s Tinside Lido from Saturday 26 May.

Everyone Active is completing the finishing touches ready to welcome hordes of visitors to the lido over the summer.

Clean-up work began at the start of April and staff have been working tirelessly to get the site looking shipshape in time for the May Bank Holiday crowds.

Located at the tip of Plymouth Hoe, the Grade II listed lido is an iconic landmark and its colourful Art Deco-style features make it one of only a handful of its kind in the country.

Tinside is open from May through to September and welcomes in excess of 30,000 people each year. Having been voted one of the top 10 outdoor pools in Europe, swimmers and sunbathers travel from all over the country to enjoy its salt water pools and beautiful views out across the Channel.

The lido is owned by Plymouth City Council and managed by Everyone Active.
