Access Plymouth
Access Plymouth is a local charity which exists to help Plymouth residents and visitors with their mobility needs.
Housed in purpose built premises in Mayflower East Car Park, they provide scooters, wheelchairs and powerchairs for hire and sale.
For travel, they have door to door minibuses with wheelchair access and a car service using volunteer drivers to take you around Plymouth.

AccessAble (formerly DisabledGo) provides free, detailed access information for disabled people across the UK.
AccessAble has information on over 600 locations in Plymouth, including hotels, cinemas, restaurants, pubs, train stations & shops. Each venue has been visited and checked so that you can see which venues and services are accessible to you.
Parking
Parking is available for the disabled in disabled only spaces. Parking charges apply to Blue Badge holders within Council car parks. An optional Accessibility Permit is available which allows a Blue Badge holder to park for free in all Council car parks except Mayflower East, Regent Street, Theatre Royal and Western Approach.
The following car parks are restricted to a maximum 3 hour stay: Colin Campbell Court, Guildhall, Courtney Street, Cornwall Street and Mayflower Street East.
On-street parking
- Yellow lines: for 3 hours or less (with a badge and clock)
- Resident bays: for 3 hours or less (with a badge and clock)
- Disabled bays: for an unlimited time unless roadside signs show time limits
- Pay and Display bays: for an unlimited time and free of charge
Local buses
Citybus route 25 serves the Barbican and Hoe from the City Centre every 20 minutes and offers low level access.
Park and Ride from Milehouse, Coypool and George junction are also accessible.
Accessible toilets
RADAR keys are available from the Tourist Information Centre.
Accessible toilets are located at the Barbican (next to the Glassblowing House) Elphinstone car park, The Hoe Promenade, Armada Way (next to the Sundial) and Drake Circus Shopping Centre.
