Join us for an exploration of Rum and find out about the history, production and sample some of the wide selection of rums we have on offer.
The Hook & Line's home, was once known as Royal William Victualling Yard, the major depot for food and stores for the Royal Navy, built between 1826 and 1835. Until 1970, sailors on Royal Navy ships, were given a rum ration, or tot. An eighth of an imperial pint was swigged each day at midday.
In honour of this tradition and true to our naval roots, The Hook & Line is leading Plymouth's rum revival. We're serving a selection of the finest rums, sourced on our doorstep and from around the globe and mixing the best rum cocktails in Plymouth. From the traditional to right now and everything in between, join the celebration of this nautical spirit.
This rum tasting experiences includes sampling 6 rums and finding out about how it is made and local connections. A brief tour of rum and its rich history, a sampling session followed by your chance to get behind the bar and show off your cocktail making skills. An opportunity to take a taste of Devon back home with you with discounted prices on the Devon Rum selection.
