About us
A brand new Architecture Locator has been launched in the Plymouth Trails app.
Users can explore with the free app and learn about some of Plymouth’s most interesting architecture, from the 1400s to modern day.
Funded by Historic England’s High Street Heritage Action Zone, the Locator highlights 50 buildings of interest, from central Plymouth to the wider city, including Derriford, Plympton and Devonport.
Users are encouraged to find the buildings in their own time, in any order – it’s an architecture treasure hunt!
The buildings are highlighted on a map and information is provided for each one, along with images, videos and ‘before and after’ faders. When users visit a building, the app will tick it off on the map, to let users keep track of their progress.
The Architecture Locator is the newest option in the Plymouth Trails app, which currently contains eleven trails and two locators, with more launching over the summer.
The app, owned by Destination Plymouth, is free to download from the App and Play Store, or visit www.visitplymouth.co.uk/trails.
The Plymouth High Street Heritage Action Zone is funded by Historic England and supported by Plymouth City Council, Plymouth Culture, The Box, Plymouth Octopus Project and Plymouth Community Heritage Network.
