About us

Achievement Training Limited (ATL) is a vocational training provider in the heart of Plymouth city centre. Having delivered Apprenticeships for over 20 years, we are experts in post 16 education offering clear information and guidance to local businesses who recruit apprentices as part of their recruitment strategy.

Our dual-role as both employer and training provider gives us a special insight into the benefits of Apprenticeships for businesses in sectors as diverse as Animal Care, Beauty, Business, Child Care, Health & Social Care and IT.  We have developed a reputation within the local business community for excellence, and have forged strong bonds with our employers, this gives our Apprentices’ superb access to progression opportunities. It is immensely satisfying to watch our learners move on to exciting new careers – all built on the foundation of an Apprenticeship with ATL.

Kathy Barnes is the current managing director, she has worked for the company since 1997 starting out as a trainee administrator, progressing through the company. Kathy has achieved enormous success since taking up the reins as MD in 2013, supporting over 9,000 learners and over 100 staff.

Most courses are either fully funded or co funded. Employers can utilise their Apprenticeship Levy.

Student loans for L3 and above are also available.
