The Bottling Plant

About us

Welcome to The Bottling Plant, the original Bottling Plant for Plymouth Gin, established 1860. You will find us directly opposite the Gin Distillery on Southside Street on The Barbican in Plymouth.

We are an independent, family run restaurant, café, and cocktail lounge, open from lunch time into the evening. We have a locally sourced menu, food freshly prepared by our Head Chef and his team. From the best seafood platters in the area to bottomless afternoon teas. Our sharing platters have drinks deals on offer to go with them, or you could go for our weekday set menu deal. We are a firm favourite for cocktails, and our incredible wine list.

Once you have tried our coffee you will be coming back for more. Tea lovers will adore the range of loose-leaf teas we have on offer. Traditional Cornish tea with a cream tea maybe your preference, but why not try mango and strawberry, or Black Tea and Thyme?

There is no need to leave the dog at home, dogs are very welcome here, and there is always a full jar of dog treats available. Children have their own menu too her in our restaurant/café. There is also a beautiful function room which is very popular for baby showers, hen parties, cocktail masterclass parties, anniversaries, and birthdays, or just book it because we are one of the best restaurants in Plymouth, and you want a room that is extra special.

Look out for our Murder Mystery Events which are held here every other month.

Join us in this grade two listed building, once the art studio for Robert Lenkiewicz. If you walk around to the back of 5 Southside Street you will find The Barbican Mural, (The Elizabethan Mural) a famous Plymouth landmark, and Robert’s most well-known mural, on the back of the building.
