About us

Welcome to The Bottling Plant, the original Bottling Plant for Plymouth Gin, established 1860. You will find us directly opposite the Gin Distillery on Southside Street on The Barbican in Plymouth.

We are an independent, family run restaurant, café, and cocktail lounge, open from lunch time into the evening. We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded One AA Rosette for Culinary excellence for 2024-2025.

Our food exceeds the expectations of our customers, everything is fresh and carefully prepared by our talented chefs. We offer menus for every occasion, from an Afternoon Tea to a Fine-Dining experience. We work with fresh seasonal ingredients, and for that reason our menus change regulary, but fear not, each one of our menus are carefully thought through and executed to perfection.

Once you have tried our coffee you will be coming back for more. For those who love cake you are going to be pleased to hear that we offer a Cake & Coffee deal, our cakes are fresly baked by our chefs. Tea lovers will adore the range of loose-leaf teas we have on offer. Traditional Cornish tea with a scone maybe your preference, but why not try mango and strawberry, or Black Tea and Thyme?

There is no need to leave the dog at home, dogs are very welcome here, and there is always a full jar of dog treats available. Children are very welcome and they have their own menu.

Allergies are catered for, so please inform your server of any allergy.

We have a beautiful function room which is very popular for baby showers, hen parties, cocktail masterclass parties, anniversaries, and birthdays, or just book it because we are one of the best restaurants in Plymouth, and you want a room that is extra special.

Are you looking for a big venue to host a wedding party or a private event but don't know where to look? We just made your life easier, you can have the whole venue for yourself! Send us an email do know more about it.

Join us in this grade two listed building, once the art studio for Robert Lenkiewicz. If you walk around to the back of 5 Southside Street you will find The Barbican Mural, (The Elizabethan Mural) a famous Plymouth landmark, and Robert’s most well-known mural, on the back of the building.
