National Walking Month
Celebrate National Walking Month in Plymouth this May! Embrace the warmer weather and check out all the walks you can embark on this month. The South West Coast Path offers excellent views and routes along the water's edge in Plymouth while there are also many beaches to visit on your travels.
If you want to explore the city, Plymouth Trails is a great way to learn more about the area. The free-to-download app is packed with trails that take you on journeys throughout the city, educating you about the fascinating history of Plymouth.
Pirates Weekend returns
Kickstarting the headline event season in Plymouth, Pirates Weekend on the waterfront is back on 17-18 May! With family-friendly activities taking place across the waterfront, put on your finest pirate outfits and check out all the fun to be had including musket firing, shanty bands, live performances, a dog show and so much more across the weekend. The second day of Pirates will see the return of the Jeremiah's Journey Pirate Fun Run. Take on the 5k or 2.5k route around one of Plymouth's most historic areas and help to support Jeremiah's Journey charity.
Tinside Re-opens
One of Plymouth's must-visit attractions is re-opening for the season in May! Tinside Lido, the stunning art-deco pool on the waterfront, will open its doors and welcome back visitors and keen swimmers on ... The Lido has undergone significant changes during the winter months with renovations.

Flavour Fest
The South West's largest food festival, Flavour Fest, is back from 30 May - 1 June in Plymouth City Centre! Discover flavours worldwide with more than 80 traders on site to taste! Accompany your visit by learning from the experts with a packed programme of demonstrations from chefs and culinary experts throughout the weekend. Furthermore, a programme of live music is in store, making Flavour Fest an event you simply mustn't miss later this month.
Britain's Ocean City Running Festival
Lace up your running shoes and get ready to tackle the Britain's Ocean City Running Festival on Sunday 11 May. Whether you're running 5k, 10k the half marathon, or simply supporting from the sidelines, the event sees runners take on a scenic route through the city which passes through Saltram, The Barbican before crossing the finish line on The Hoe Promenade.
Home Park Stadium Events
Home Park Stadium is set to rock this May with three days of live music coming to the home of Plymouth Argyle! Starting on 21 May, Live at Argyle is set to bring legends of the Indie stage, Kaiser Chiefs to Plymouth.
Supported by Jake Bugg, the festival is a great way to start the bank holiday weekend! Swiftly followed by Alive at Argyle on 24 May, the electronic music festival will be headlined by Gorgon City and features special guest Ben Hemsley. Ending the weekend in style is a family-friendly festival, Relive at Argyle! With headline acts including Mel C, Marvin Humes and Tinchy Stryder it's the ultimate family festival with kids' activities to take part in throughout the day.
Vegan Market
Another food festival to look forward to this month. On 10 May the Vegan Festival is making its return to Central Park after its first outing last Spring! Celebrating all foods vegan, bring your appetite and tuck into a wide array of vegan-friendly dishes from 10am-4pm.
Green Man Weekend
Mount Edgcumbe's ever-popular festival Green Man Weekend, returns in May. The event showcases a ginormous Green Man figure which has been constructed out of storm-damaged trees. The event includes a wide range of entertainment for all of the family, with live music, tasty food, arts and crafts and so much more on 24 and 25 May.
May Half Term
There's plenty happening in Plymouth throughout the May half-term. Running from 24 May to 1 June, check out all of the events taking place throughout the city during the week that are bound to provide fun for all the family in Britain's Ocean City.
