Professional yachtsman Conrad Humphreys skippered Bounty in Channel 4’s televised recreation of Lieutenant Bligh’s remarkable open-boat voyage, Mutiny. In 2017, he acquired the vessel and launched The Bounty Project, offering immersive “living history” experiences within Plymouth Sound.

During the pandemic, The Bounty Project explored the local waterways, starting with the Tamar Valley, a network of three wonderfully scenic rivers into Plymouth Sound. As one of Europe’s largest natural harbours, the Sound provides a haven for small sailing boats and a gateway to the region’s rich maritime history and cultural heritage. It soon expanded into the rest of Devon and Cornwall, fostering an even greater appreciation for the area's stunning landscapes and heritage.

With a growing interest in slow travel, The Bounty Project offers a unique opportunity to embrace nature, discover local history, and develop a deeper connection to the places we visit.

Visitors can set sail on guided tours through the Tamar Valley, Plymouth Sound National Marine Park, and Royal William Yard – uncovering the hidden gems of Plymouth from the water.
