About us
Here at Honkytonk, we pride ourselves on diversity. In our team with have wide range of cultures and nationalities from Austrian to Polish, and Malaysian to Jamaican.
So, on the Saturday 5th of August 2023 will will be celebrating (a day early) Jamaica's Independence day. On this day in 1962 after 300 years of British rule, the union jack was ceremonially lowered, and the new Jamaican flag proudly hoisted aloft as Jamaica proudly declared itself as an independent state.
We have deep roots in Jamaica, with Fitz being raised in a west Indian culture, along with our head chef Donovan and our supervisor Milly proudly being mixed with Jamaican and British blood. The YOUNG ONES decided to throw a celebration party like we haven't seen before. For those of you that joined us last year you already know what to expect. We will be celebrating a day early on Saturday 5th August so you get Sunday to have a lay in.
The air will be full of the aroma of curry goat and jerk chicken, while your ears be kept pleased with the sound of reggae riddims. Don't forget the homemade Rum punch and rum and raisin brownie
We have a 4 piece Steel Drum Band to kick us off
2 hour Dj set from Billy Hannah
1 dish of either Curry Goat or Jerk Chicken (vege option available)
1 glass of our HonkyTonk Plantation Spiced Rum punch
Saturday 5th August 13:00-1830 or later if the sun is still strong.
Expect plenty of Rum, Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat and don't forget about Donnys Dumplins.
