About us

Join us for this exclu­sive event on the open­ing day of '​The Time is Always Now'! Listen to Ekow Eshun, writer and exhibition curator, as he shares insights from his research into representations of the Black figure, and his work with leading UK and US artists.

Ekow will be in conversation with Jelena Sofronijevic, Contemporary Art Curator at The Box, and producer of the EMPIRE LINES podcast.

They will discuss some of the key themes in this landmark exhibition, which includes works from Turner Prize winner Lubaina Himid, Barbara Walker, Michael Armitage, Denzil Forrester, and Amy Sherald, who painted the official portrait of Michelle Obama.
