About us
In response to Osman Yousefzada's exhibition 'When will we be good enough?', community arts practitioner, creative technologist and artist Yudi Wu has created this unique workshop which will ask attendees to consider the important question: "How can individuals harness the power of creativity and technologies, against the exploitation of big tech?"
Whether you're a professional artist, creative hobbyist or average social media user - this workshop is for anyone who creates and shares images online.
What's included in this session?
To start with Yudi will give you an overview of how our data is currently being exploited for the training of generative AI and more, and introduce you to some of the tools and methods that can help protect your creative content. You'll also be given information on how you might use the internet in ways that are fairer for everyone. Yudi will then guide you through some of the most convenient methods to prevent your images from being used for training generative AI and more.
● Learn how to use Glaze and Nightshade: tools developed by the University of Chicago which will prevent your images from being used by GenAI, by altering specific pixels without affecting the overall look of the image.
● Learn how to create your own visual-based creative watermark, which further protects your digital images from being stolen.
No prior knowledge of technology or art is required. Beginners are very welcome.
Please bring a fully charged laptop, a tablet or a smartphone with you.
