About us
Join us for a free celebratory weekend at Plymouth Guildhall to mark the King’s Coronation, thanks to funding from the DCMS and UK Government.
Accessibility information
- There is an accessible entrance to Plymouth Guildhall on the corner with a ramp.
- There is a lift in the venue to reach the Great Hall, just beyond the accessible entrance inside.
- There are accessible toilets in the foyer, first floor and lower hall.
- There are three Blue Badge parking spaces within the Guildhall car park.

Big Screen
A big screen will be on site for everyone to enjoy. On Saturday 6 May watch a live stream of the Coronation ceremony, with music on stage before and after the showing.
On Sunday 7 May enjoy the live stream of the Coronation Concert from Windsor Castle, due to start at 8pm. Expect performances from Take That, Lionel Richie, Freya Ridings and Katy Perry, alongside a 74 piece world-class classical orchestra and 300 strong Coronation Choir.
'Big Lunch' Street Party Zone
A 'Big Lunch' street party zone will be in Plymouth Guildhall on Saturday, with tables and chairs for locals and visitors to come together in a unique setting where they can bring a picnic or buy lunch from local eateries.
Charity Stalls
A variety of charity stalls will be set up on Saturday to help people find out more about volunteering in the community. The Big Help Out is part of The King’s Coronation legacy and is aimed at getting people involved in making a change within their own communities.
'Street Style' Entertainment and Activities
Amongst the stalls on Saturday, there will be plenty of street style entertainment including stilt walkers, a bubble blowing queen, GraceNotes Acapella, and the Blokes Who Sing community choirs. There will also be free opportunities for little ones to print their very own crown, have their face painted in the main foyer and listen to some Tiny Tales from the Theatre Royal Plymouth’s storytelling team in the lower hall.
Performances and Live Music
On the main stage, a wide variety of performances will take place before and after the live streaming of the Coronation ceremony. Amongst the performance line-up are, the Cooperative Big Band, Rhythm City, Natasha’s Bollywood Dance School, Italia Conti and the Groovement Project.
Live stage entertainment will commence from mid-afternoon on Sunday 7 May, with performances from Celtic folk-punk band Black Friday, Jamie Yost, Rue, and singer-songwriters The Busketeers, and culminating in the live stream of the Coronation concert.
