About us

To celebrate those aged 50+ in Plymouth, we are giving away 15 pairs of tickets for people to come and join us to watch a much loved Christmas comedy. So snap up those tickets before they all go!

This event has kindly be sponsored by SD Solution Ltd for Age UK Plymouth. A local, independent charity supporting people aged 50+, those living with dementia and carers, in Plymouth.

About the film!

Dir. Jon Favreau, US, 2003, 93 mins. Cast. Will Ferrell, Edward Asner, James Caan, Zooey Deschanel.
Will Ferrell stars as Buddy, a regular-sized man who was raised as an elf by Santa Claus (Edward Asner). When the news is finally broken to Buddy that he's not a real elf, he decides to head back to his place of birth, New York City, in search of his biological family, while also spreading Christmas cheer in a world of cynics in the process.

This festive screening of Elf will also be shown with descriptive subtitles that display the dialogue as well as additional auditory information on the screen.

It will also be a relaxed screening, suitable for those with Dementia, Autism, and anyone who finds standard screenings overwhelming:

Plymouth Arts Cinema is run by a small and friendly team of staff and volunteers.

The volume is much lower than at a multiplex.

The house lights are left on a little during the film.

You are welcome to bring personal items such as blankets, ear defenders, that will help you enjoy the film but do not disrupt other people's cinematic experience.
