Competitors revealed for British Firework Championships

Six firework companies from across the UK have been selected to perform at this year's British Firework Championships on Plymouth Hoe.
Lord Mayor Councillor Mark Shayer conducted the draw for the ever-popular event which attracts more than 100,000 visitors to watch at viewing points all around Plymouth Sound.
The British Firework Championships is the largest free public event in the South West in 2024 and the event has been hosted in Plymouth for over 25 years.
Three companies will fire their displays from Mount Batten Pier on the evening of Wednesday 14 August, they will be followed by the second set of contestants on Thursday 15 August.
A reserve company has also been selected.
The running order is as follows:
Wednesday 14 August:
- Smart Pyrotechnics – Wiltshire
- Sky Rascal Fireworks - Somerset
- Pyrotex Fireworks – East Staffordshire
Thursday 15 August:
- Anytime Fireworks – Dorset
- Celestial Firework Displays – Leicestershire
- BBB Fireworks – East Sussex
Reserve company:
Phoenix Fireworks, Kent
In 2023, Skyburst The Firework Company won the Championships, while Electrify Pyrotechnics Pyrotechnics won the prestigious Young People’s Choice Award sponsored by Plymouth Citybus, which will return in 2024.
