The Lyric
Priscilla Queen of the Desert
Monday 20 to Saturday 25 January 2020
Based on the Oscar-winning film, Priscilla is the hilarious adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus bound for Alice Springs to put on the show of a lifetime. Their epic journey is a heart-warming story of self-discovery, sassiness and acceptance. The iconic hit musical has more glitter than ever before, featuring a dazzling array of stunning costumes, fabulous feathers and a non-stop parade of dance-floor classics including It’s Raining Men, I Will Survive, I Love The Nightlife, Finally and many more.
The Verdict
Tuesday 21 to Saturday 25 May 2019
Frank Galvin is a washed up veteran lawyer and an alcoholic. He is presented with one last chance to redeem himself when he is given an open-and-shut medical malpractice case that no one thinks he can win. Up against the unforgiving medical establishment, he courageously refuses an out of court settlement, believing it is negligence that has condemned a young mother. Smelling a cover up, he instead takes the case and the entire legal system to court.
The Drum
Arm
Tuesday 21 to Saturday 25 May 2019
It’s a field of exploration, of absurd experiments... Uncomplicated, excessive, surrealistic Belgian humour bursts with delightful absurdities and hilarious scenes.
One of Belgium’s oldest and legendary absurdist companies marked its Edinburgh debut as part of Big in Belgium 2017. Arm was created in 2001 and toured extensively in Holland and Flanders. Since then it has been performed in France, Spain, Great Britain and Switzerland.
Let Me Look At You
Tuesday 14 to Saturday 18 May 2019
A gay man wanders through Soho, thinking over the losses and triumphs of the past 50 years of gay experience. There, right across the street, he spots a young motorcyclist parking his bike… and is impelled to cross the road and introduce himself. Both hilarious and deeply moving, this celebration of LGBTQ+ history blends solo theatre with stand-up to glorious effect.
2000 Stories
Wednesday 19 to Saturday 22 June 2019
This is a show about stories; the ones that influence us and the ones we choose to hear. Who decides on the selection of stories we are told. Can we start again from a different location or a new perspective?
Thunder Road
Tuesday 4 to Saturday 8 June 2019
Tonight, in a village hall near you, Maureen and Sylvie will be stunning you with their ground breaking First Aid training. Thunder Road is about the power of the Heimlich manoeuvre, adventure and escape, the call of the open road, and the kind of friendship you'd take a bullet for.
