English Tourism Week 2025
Destination Plymouth is running a series of campaign activities for English Tourism Week from 14-23 March 2025, a celebration of the vibrant and diverse tourism sector in Britain's Ocean City.
This annual campaign highlights the immense value and high quality of English tourism, showcasing what makes each destination unique and inviting.
The week-long event raises awareness of the tourism industry with key audiences, including MPs, ministers and the media. We know that the sector in Plymouth goes above and beyond when it comes to supporting colleagues and nurturing emerging industry talent. We have partnered with Skills Launchpad and Welcoming Plymouth to provide recruitment opportunities, training and behind the scenes access to some of the region's sector leaders.
As part of VisitEngland’s ongoing mission, it aims to demonstrate to political leaders the vital role tourism plays in both the national and local economy, reinforcing its importance in driving growth and creating jobs.
English Tourism Week’s Key Objectives:
-
Kickstart the Spring/Summer Season: Provide businesses and destinations with a powerful marketing moment to engage with customers and drive bookings.
-
Strengthen Local Connections: Offer businesses the chance to connect with local stakeholders, including MPs and media, to highlight tourism’s positive impact on their area.
-
Promote Domestic Travel: Raise awareness of the quality and variety of tourism experiences across England, encouraging more people to explore their own country.
