Fédération Européenne des Cités Napoléoniennes
The Cultural Route “Destination Napoleon” created and managed by the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities was certified by the Council of Europe in 2015.
“Destination Napoleon” draws its originality and richness from its continental dimension, in its geographical and administrative diversity and certainly in its historical, cultural and patrimonial magnitude.
The Federation founded by Charles Bonaparte in 2004 originates from the cities intention to place their Napoleonic heritage in its European dimension. By cross-reading the particularly important and contrasted pages of the history the Federation proposes a major contribution to the shared culture of the European peoples. It is essential that this heritage be granted its rightful place as part of a historical reading, but also by its influence on the contemporary geopolitical context and notably in the development of the “European idea.”
