Today (8 June) is World Oceans Day and as Britain’s Ocean City, Plymouth is taking big steps to protect the ocean on our doorstep. The theme of this year’s World Oceans Day is preventing plastic pollution, something which Plymouth has already been working hard at.                             

This year’s Lord Mayor’s Festival, sponsored by Rowes Honda and Rowes Suzuki, takes place on Saturday 26 May in Plymouth city centre. We’ll be welcoming Councillor Sam Davey to his new role as Lord Mayor. The festival has a dinosaur theme this year, making it perfect for young explorers.

Ooh arr, me hearties! On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May, Pirates Weekend will return to the Barbican, Sutton Harbour and West Hoe for two days jam-packed full of family fun. We’ve pulled together all the information and entertainment schedules into one day so you can plan your weekend.
