It’s not long until Christmas, and there’s no better way to embrace the festive spirit than by visiting a Christmas Market! Not only does it immerse you in the holiday cheer, but it’s also a fantastic opportunity to stock up on Christmas gifts. Fortunately, Plymouth is home to a variety of delightful Christmas markets, making it easy to enjoy the season and shop local!

Plymouth Christmas Markets   

28 November to 15 December, 10am to 6pm (9pm on Thursdays and 5pm on Sundays)

Plymouth’s Christmas Market is back and better than ever. Returning on 28 November, it’s brimming with mouth-watering food and drink—whether you crave hot cider, a Yorkshire pudding wrap, or a savoury bratwurst sausage, you’ll find it all here. Local traders will showcase their handmade goods, offering a delightful range of homeware, clothing, arts, crafts, and more. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a magical evening while getting a head start on your Christmas shopping!

   

Festive Good Food & Craft Market

1 December to 18 December, Wednesday 5pm to 9pm and Sunday 10am to 3pm

Set in the iconic Melville building in the heart of the Royal William Yard, the festive good food & craft market is a Christmas staple. Taking place on Wednesdays and Sundays throughout December, this market showcases a vibrant selection of local artisan traders. Explore an array of stalls featuring everything from homemade goods and locally brewed beverages to delicious treats and beautifully crafted art. It's the perfect destination for holiday shopping and festive cheer!

Beforehand, why not have a festive meal at a local restaurant? The Hook & Line have a delicious set Christmas menu that is not one to miss.

    

Small Barn Mini Markets

9 & 10, 16 & 17 and 23 and 24 November 

This year, Buckland Abbey is hosting a series of Christmas mini markets in the small barn on weekends. Local vendors will transform the space into a magical shopping experience filled with delicious treats and unique handmade gifts. Whilst you are there, you can make a day out of it by enjoying a seasonal family trail too. 

   

Tavistock Christmas Festival

8 December, 10.30am to 3.30pm

Located in the Pannier Market in Tavistock, the Christmas Market features over 70 exhibitors showcasing a delightful array of gifts, from jewellery and candles to unique treasures perfect for Christmas gifts. Families will also find plenty of fun activities, including a gnome trail for the little ones, a festive bouncy castle, and a choir to keep everyone entertained!

   

Ivybridge Christmas Festival

22 November, 4pm to 8pm

Taking place at Glanvilles Mill, the Ivybridge Christmas Market promises an exciting afternoon and evening filled with festive fun! With over 50 stalls brimming with delicious treats and unique gifts, it’s the perfect spot for your holiday shopping. Everyone will be entertained, with performances from Rick the Stick and the Rock Choir, along with carousel rides, a bouncy castle, face painting, and much more!

   

Christmas Fair at Mount Edgcumbe

14 and 15 December, 10am to 3.30pm

Join us at Mount Edgcumbe for their Christmas Fair, a festive weekend filled with holiday cheer. Featuring over 50 artisan food and gift stalls, there is plenty to discover. There is also a variety of festive entertainment such as carol singing. 

Tickets must be pre-booked.

1 December,10am to 3pm
