About us

Future Inn Plymouth is one of the 3 hotels in the UK following the successful and popular Future Inns in Canada. Independently owned, all of the hotels are 4* equivalent and pay homage to the Canadian roots with hotel, restaurant, conference, meeting, wedding and event facilities. Welcoming families, couples, groups or solo and business travellers.

Hotel Facilities

When you are spending the night away from home, for business or pleasure, you want to feel like you have escaped your busy everyday life, but with lots of home from home necessities. The hotels' Canadian roots are shown throughout all of the 143 spacious bedrooms. All rooms have a private en-suite with a bath and shower.  

Perks include free parking and free WiFi throughout the hotel. Guests can also make use of the extra luxuries, including complimentary robe and slippers in your room, vegan-friendly toiletries, a flat-screen TV with Freeview, iron and ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water and wine glasses and an ice bucket. Plus, a small exercise room and guest laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Family-friendly Hotel

Plymouth is an excellent place for families. From tots to teens, there really is something for all ages. All of our bedrooms sleep up to four guests. The Twin Room is most popular with families, as it has two queen-sized beds. The Standard Room has a double bed and double sofa bed. Or, the King Suite has a large bedroom and separate living room with a double sofa bed. The suite is twice the size of our standard bedrooms. Plus, under 12's stay for free throughout the year.

Accessible Bedrooms

The accessible bedrooms are often given high praise. In fact, the Disabled Reviewers gave the hotel 9/10 for accessibility and customer service. The rooms have ample turning space for wheelchairs and the much-needed walk-in shower room, with a lowered sink and towel rail to keep things within easy reach. No bedrooms are on the ground floor; you will need to go up in the lift. However, the large corridors and wide doors are easy to navigate along.

Bike Friendly Hotel

Plymouth and the surrounding areas in Devon and Cornwall have exciting cycle routes. Future Inn Plymouth is a cycle-friendly hotel. Bikes can be kept in the hotel bedrooms, and there's a secure cycle rack for safe storage during your stay. Don't forget about the laundry room, which you can use to freshen up your cycle kit in between rides.

Location

Our location makes it the perfect base for business and leisure travellers to explore the city's myriad of attractions, events, and entertainment. The hotel is a 15-minute drive from Plymouth Train Station. Buses run regularly from outside the hotel, making it easy to get to Plymouth Hoe, Sutton Harbour and Royal William's Yard. The hotel is also close to Derriford Hospital.

Fishbone Restaurant

Fishbone Restaurant serves British food and an array of delicious fresh fish dishes. All made on-site using fresh local produce. There is a wide selection of meat, fish, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes to choose from. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, evening a-la-carte dining and traditional roasts on Sundays.

Children

Children are more than welcome in Fishbone Restaurant. A children's menu is available daily which offers a main, dessert and drink for £8. It is ideal for under 12's. Under 5's can eat for free with a paying adult.

Weddings and Special Events

A popular wedding venue, as the modern yet elegant function suites offer a stylish setting to take your vows, enjoy a wedding breakfast or celebrate into the early hours. From an intimate feel to a grander affair, the suites can accommodate up to 120 people. The team have even been shortlisted as Wedding Venue of the Year at the South West Wedding Awards.

Future Inn Plymouth is one of the go-to establishments to host a conference or meeting. With eight meeting rooms to choose from, ranging in capacities up to 300 delegates. There are various function suites to choose from. 

All are on the ground floor, making them fully accessible, with lots of natural light. All guests are offered free parking. The hotel is also ideally based for hitting the Boxing Day sales.

Accessibility

The open-plan restaurant is on the ground floor, so no ramps or alternative routes are needed. There is booth seating and tables where a chair can be easily removed for a wheelchair. Free parking and blue badge parking can be found directly in front of the restaurant. Admittedly there is no accessible toilet in the restaurant; however, there is one in the conference corridor next to the other bathrooms. This is a short distance away. Free Parking

Guests at Fishbone Restaurant get free parking. Please make sure you enter your car registration details on one of the consoles in the restaurant or reception when you arrive. This is to avoid being sent a parking penalty notice.
