About us
The past and future of humankind is tied to our Ocean.
Marine Social Science can help us to understand these links and how human behaviour is key to ensuring that the Ocean has a healthy and thriving future. This Ocean Conversations event brings together Plymouth based experts and enthusiasts in Ocean literacy, Ocean identity, Ocean communities and our Ocean city!
During the event you'll hear about their latest work, have the chance to ask questions and network as well as signing up to the Plymouth Marine Social Science Network.
Dr Pamela Buchan (University of Exeter) introducing marine identity theory and how everyone can become a citizen of the sea.
Nicola Bridge (Ocean Conservation Trust) highlighting the key findings of the DEFRA Ocean Literacy survey.
Elaine Hayes (Plymouth Sound National Marine Park) exploring the life as Interim CEO of the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park.
