Evening concerts £15/£18 Saturday. Lunchtime concerts free (with retiring collection/after admission to grounds in the case of the performance at Buckland Abbey. Choral Workshop £25 (Fri and Sat participation) or £10 (Fri only). Compline and choral Eucharist free. All events free for under 18's. The Exon Singers 56th Summer Festival, 24-28 July 2024, Tavistock Parish Church and The Great Barn, Buckland Abbey. Joseph Judge, Artistic Director, Neil Taylor Accompanist

The opening concert takes place on Wednesday 24 July at 7.30pm at Tavistock Parish Church: MOZART AND VIVALDI, with The Exon Singers, The Haldon Quartet, Joseph Judge, Conductor and Neil Taylor, Organ performing works by two classical greats: Vivaldi's Gloria and Mozart's Coronation Mass

Devon-based THE HALDON QUARTET perform
an irresistible programme of lunchtime treats: works by Schubert, Caroline Shaw and Devon Folk Music.

Thursday 25 July at 9.00pm at Tavistock Parish Church
COMPLINE BY CANDLELIGHT: a service of quietness and reflection, sung to Gregorian Chant and concluding with the anthem "Tonight Eternity Alone" by Rene Clausen.

On Friday 26 July at 1.10pm there are two Festival concerts. At The Great Barn, Buckland Abbey, The Exon Singers, Conductor Joseph Judge, present FROM RENAISSANCE TO RADIOHEAD,
a striking lunchtime recital programme featuring Gregorian chant and a modern work inspired by the same chant; a great hymn of praise from the Renaissance; contemporary pieces with captivating harmonies; and ending with a serene choral arrangement of Radiohead's Pyramid Song.

Also on Friday 26 July at 1.10pm, at Tavistock Parish Church, an ORGAN RECITAL will be given by Neil Taylor,
including works by C.V. Stanford, Johann Sebastian Bach and others.

On the evening of Friday 26 July, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Tavistock Parish Church, there is an opportunity to join The Exon Singers, Artistic Director Joseph Judge, and Organist Neil Taylor for a CHORAL WORKSHOP on John Rutter's exuberant and joyful GLORIA! As well as a fun evening working on all aspects of singing technique and some hints on score reading, it's the perfect preparation for your involvement in Saturday evening's performance of the work.

The final Festival Concert, HYMN TO THE SUN, takes place on Saturday 27 July at 7.30pm at Tavistock Parish Church with The Exon Singers, the Choral Workshop Choir, The Bristol Brass Consort, Joseph Judge, Conductor and Neil Taylor, Organ. The programme features Boulanger's Hymn to the Sun and Jonathan Dove's The Passing of the Year, as well as Rutter's Gloria.

On Sunday 28 July at 9.45am the Festival concludes with FESTIVAL EUCHARIST at Tavistock Parish Church, with The Exon Singers, Joseph Judge, Conductor and Neil Taylor, Organ.
