The Plymouth Christmas Market brings all the festive sights, smells and atmosphere to the city centre, with the wonderful festive log cabins, festooned with Christmas lights and colourful garlands, selling a wide range of unique gifts, crafts, jewellery, clothing, festive treats and much more.

When is it and where?

Plymouth Christmas Market takes place from Thursday 28 November until Sunday 15 December. You can find the massive market In the Piazza, Armada Way, in Plymouth city centre.

The opening times for Plymouth Christmas Market are:

Monday: 10am to 6pm

Tuesday: 10am to 6pm

Wednesday: 10am to 6pm

Thursday: 10am to 9pm (late night shopping)

Friday: 10am to 6pm

Saturday: 10am to 6pm

Sunday: 10am to 5pm

                

How do I get to there?

Why not use public transport, there's many travel options available, such as by Plymouth Citybus that will drop you nearby for only £2 per single adult journey. If you need to bring the car, there is plenty of car parks nearby.

Is there a charge to attend?

No, the Christmas Market is free of charge to attend. Although traders will incur a charge for items.  

         

What traders will be there?

Located in beautifully decorated log cabins, festooned with twinkly fairy lights and colourful garlands, you’ll will find over 50 stalls selling everything from handcrafted gifts and decorations, to clothing and bespoke jewellery, local food and drink, homeware, arts and crafts and much more. Perfect for those individual and unique Christmas gifts.

Can I purchase hot food and drink?

You’ll find all your festive favourites, from flavoursome Yorkshire Pudding Wraps to hearty Hog Roast. Try the Christmas Tree Swing Grill for bratwurst sausages or the Flamehouse Grill for flame-grilled meats served hot and smoky. Check out The Noodle House and The Gourmet Greek stall, or go for some spicy Salt n Pepper Chicken!

Satisfy your sweet tooth with fresh hot donuts or indulge in freshly made crepes with a selection of sweet toppings. Finish off with the World of Cheese, a cheese lovers paradise!

Get into the Christmas spirit with the licensed Bavarian bar. Enjoy a festive spiced hot mulled wine or cider – plus plenty of other refreshments to choose from including: beers, wine, spirits and soft drinks too.

There is also great choice of locally sourced food and drink traders selling the perfect gifts, including chocolates, fudge, cheeses, honey, olives, spices, cream liqueurs, gin, rum and much more.

Is there entertainment on the Piazza?

There is entertainment and live music each day during the Christmas market, including the wonderful festive stilt walkers who will be roaming the market and interacting with the crowds every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy live music performances from local primary schools and community choirs singing our Christmas favourites, to a mix of Jazz, steel bands and acoustic sets of top covers to sing-a-long to - all adding to the festive cheer.

Is the market accessible, and when are the quieter times?

The market is accessibly friendly. Check out access information for Plymouth Christmas Market.

The quieter times to visit are Monday to Wednesday. Thursday and the weekends will be much busier times, but there are quieter spaces around the city centre to sit and chill out including: Moments Cafe (69A New George Street), Coffee Time (134 Cornwall Street), Power Plant Café (59 Cornwall Street) and The Treasury (Catherine Street).

When is late night shopping?

The Christmas Market will stay open until 9pm on Thursdays.

Many of the shops across the city centre are open until 9pm every Thursday, during late-night shopping period from Thursday 14 November until Thursday 19 December.
