Join Plymouth Boat Trips as they whisk you away from the historic Barbican to explore the history of Plymouth’s Dockyard and river routes before landing at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park. Here you will be treated to a delicious and traditional Cornish afternoon cream tea in our beautiful 18th Century Orangery. You will then head up to the 16th Century Mount Edgcumbe House where you will take a trip through history and learn why Mount Edgcumbe made such an impression on visitors that they carried the name to the four corners of the globe.
See how the changing world affected the lives of the local residents; the famous people who visited and the intrepid explorers who spread the name of Plymouth and Mount Edgcumbe. Being able to trace the history of the estate back to the Mesolithic period gives ample opportunity to fascinate our visitors with tales of adventure from marauding Vikings to New World explorers and everything in between.
