About
Connections is a tourism project collaboration between 13 England destinations that has developed new bookable tourism products, experiences and suggested itineraries in the lead up to the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower’s historic voyage.
Led by Destination Plymouth the products and themes created, aim to tap in to the fascination of the many connections between England and America and have been built around identified and tested historical and cultural connections between the two nations; including WW2, US military and the ‘Special Relationship’, migration and ancestry including Mayflower and Faith and religion.
The project is a ‘Discover England Fund’ project matched with contributions from the 13 destination partners. The project initially focused on the US inbound market and is now seeking to develop and promote other cultural and historical connections between other nations.
The purpose of this website is to showcase the new bookable tours and experiences that are available for visitors and the trade. And to signpost to each of the 13 destination regions of England that are part of this project.
