Discover the US Army’s build up to the Normandy D-day landings whilst stationed in Cornwall. There are many historical locations throughout the picturesque county of Cornwall which were used in preparation for the D-day landing assault on 6 th June 1944.
From 1943 through to June 1944, there were 24 military bases in Cornwall housing tens of thousands of American troops preparing for the Normandy Landings. See the places and hear the stories about what these brave military and naval personnel experienced whilst posted in Cornwall.
